The Gift of Gratitude

When we think of gratitude, we often think of it as being a gift we give to others.  Compliments, appreciation, and words of affirmation from others have the power to impact and even change the course of our day for the better.

During the holiday season, thankfulness is at the core of our celebrations.  Research suggests that gratitude strengthens relationships, improves health, reduces stress and, in general, makes us happier.  Gratitude can help us see situations in a new way, opening our thinking to new solutions.  If we find ourselves stuck in a moment of fear or in a situation where we cannot see anything positive, it is a good time to be grateful.  Not grateful for what has us stuck, but appreciating what doesn’t.

I encourage you to embrace the gift of gratitude.  Watch the impact of gratitude in action in your home, relationships, and community.  You may find that the practice of recognition, acknowledgement, and appreciation for others and for life’s situations improves your quality of life as well.  We are grateful to be a part of this community.
